Candidate Statement

A strong and vital Fermilab is central to a strong US HEP program. As a foreign user and employee, an experimenter and an accelerator scientist, I have seen Fermilab from different viewpoints. I hope to be able to use this experience to help the UEC make Fermilab a comfortable and welcoming place, so that Fermilab can continue to attract the best people and the best science.

In the straitened economic times that face us, it is perhaps more important than ever to engage constructively with the politicians who control our funding and with the general public. We have a clear moral duty to effectively communicate the first class science we do to the public that pays for it. Conveniently, this aligns with our self-interest: a public which is educated about science is supportive of it.
